20 months
How can it be that my sweet baby girl is almost 2 years old? It just doesn’t seem possible…
Only 4 more months until she enters the “terrible twos” and our whole world is turned upside down with the arrival of Rosie’s new baby brother or sister…

This last month Rosie had her first real sickness - with throw up and all - and she has somehow been needier and whinier since then - I am hoping this is a phase that will pass soon.. Maybe she is starting to feel the energy of the new baby and that is what is making her feel she needs more mommy cuddle time. While she was getting over being sick, she was playing on the floor and eating crackers and I was getting ready to take her upstairs to nap and I looked over and she had fallen asleep on her own…

Poor tired girl
I added to our indoor play equipment with a small plastic slide that Rosie loves (I think I mentioned it in last month’s update)

So now we have a slide, swing, trampoline, ladybug tent, piano, drums, and a TON of toys to keep her busy while we are cooped up inside….
Though we actually got to play outside a few days this last month - with a freakish warm spell that had the temperature in the 70’s! We took advantage and Rosie got some time in her sandbox - and she had a great time dumping sand all over herself.

It is a little sad now that the weather is back in the 20-30’s with snowshowers again - Rosie bangs on the back door and wants to go outside and I have to deny her and tell her it is too cold….
Rosie still loves taking baths - mostly I take baths with her in our big bathtub - and sometimes Daddy joins us too for a family bath!

I have to admit that I have been really lazy lately and have been letting Rosie watch much more TV than I originally wanted. I blame it on the pregnancy - I have been so tired and I just need a break sometimes because Rosie is so active all day long…
So now she knows Oobi, Dora, Diego, and the Wonder Pets along with her beloved Sesame Street characters. I hope I am not turning her into a couch potato!

That is not an image I am proud of - but it is pretty cute…

And she does really love her Elmo couch that Aunt P got her for Christmas/Hanukkah…
She is so cute and loves to play peek a boo, hide and seek, run and chase, and lately she has been wanting to “cuddle baby” - which means she lifts up my shirt to expose my belly and she rests her head there. Isn’t that sweet? She is also starting to sing along with me and with her videos and shows she watches… Her favorites are “Twinkle Twinkle”, “ABCD” and “Farm” as she calls them… She only gets every other word or so - but she is slowly getting the hang of it….
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star sounds like this ” Twinkle……Star……Wonder….. Are….” and Old Mac Donald sounds like this “………Farm……….YO” - but she bobs her head to the tune and dances along even when she is not getting all the words in…
This last photo is of her playing with her new “hat”…
