19 months
Once again - another month has flown by….

Rosie’s last month has been a verbal explosion- she knows the words to almost EVERYTHING - and she will imitate whatever you say…it blows my mind. Plus, she is using phrases now - saying “I love you” “all better” “more cereal” “bye bye Daddy” “I did it” “I’m running” and it is really cute when she wants to be carried - she holds her arms up and says “carry you”. Another funny thing she says is “I farted” - another influence from her daddy…
I think a large part of her fast development has to do with her twice a week visits to Rocco’s house. Being around a 2 year old has helped expand her vocabulary and also has helped her be more easygoing at bedtime and naptime. She loves playing with Rocco - they run around and chase each other

and Rocco has been teaching her to shoot baskets too

Rosie likes yelling “I made it” whether she actually makes it or not….
Rosie is still a big reader - so I got her a BIG book to read (one of my childhood favorites - Richard Scarry)

At least this one takes her a while to get through because there is so much to look at - I don’t get bombarded with “again” every few minutes…
She still loves coloring too - and she is getting really good at making shapes - she draws a circle (a lopsided one) and tells me that it is a circle - and she can almost make a heart - she also drew a yellow circle the other day and declared to me that it was a “sun” - sometimes she scribbles and tells me she is drawing a “fower”. I have let her color all over her small table and chairs - it is becoming very um- colorful. I still have to remind her to color only on paper…. she is pretty good most of the time, even grabbing the tiniest scraps of paper to try to color on…
She is also really into dumping things out - especially food - which doesn’t really please her mommy… so we have been practicing picking up and cleaning up a lot lately…
Speaking of food - she has been an eating machine - she eats non-stop all day long. Fruit, crackers and cheese have been the staples of her diet - she loves watermelon, kiwi, banana, strawberries, apples, oranges - etc. Her favorite crackers are either cheddar goldfish, or rice/popcorn/soy cakes with cheese flavor or wheat thins… and she eats at least one package of string cheese a day…

We are still hanging in with the nursing thing - though my supply has dropped drastically - I know it is mostly a comfort thing for her - but sometimes it is too painful and irritating for me to indulge her. We will see how the next couple months go….
She has been loving her swing we hung up inside - as I mentioned in last month’s update…

sometimes she loves it TOO much - where she never wants to get off - so when we get tired of pushing her - we have to pull it upstairs and hide it for a few days to give us a break…
She also really loves slides - so I ordered her a cheap little plastic slide online - that is an exercise she can do herself and mommy doesn’t have to stand around and participate for hours….
She also loves putting on mommy and daddy’s shoes and walking around the house

she falls a lot and tells me “I fall down” - then I pick her up and kiss her and ask “all better?” and she says “all bedder”.
I had to give her a haircut the other day (her first one) - I just trimmed her bangs because they were uneven and always hanging in her eyes and she started pulling out any kind of barrette or ponytail I would put in her hair - thus pulling her hair out along with it. She has some short little jagged bangs now - but that still doesn’t stop her from wanting a barrette in her hair - that she takes out 3 seconds later…
She is so amazing and I love watching her grow and learn new things every day.
