13 months
Well, toddlerhood has officially arrived…

Wow - how time flies! I feel like I was just writing Rosie’s 1 year update - and already another month has gone by… and boy have there been a TON of changes in that month! Rosie has 3 new teeth - top left molar, top right front, top left front - in that order - and her top right molar is just barely starting to poke through too… She has started to walk all the time now - and only resorts to crawling about 5% of the time. She is eating much more now - loves scrambled eggs and turkey and chicken- and a new fave is corn on the cob - it is good for teething too…

She eats a lot of variety, but not a lot of quantity - she still nurses for about 80% of her nutrition. She is way more aggressive in her requests to nurse - she will come up to me and just yank my shirt up or down and bury her face in my chest.
She loves to play copycat - when she says something or does something and you repeat it and vice versa - it makes her laugh so hard. She learned to crawl up on the couch and climbs anything she can. She loves to jump on the couch and bed and fall backward onto pillows. She started to become fascinated with putting things into other things - which is a change from her always wanting to take things OUT of other things. She is really loving her shape sorter that she got as a birthday gift and we spend hours putting the colored wooden shapes in and out of the container, but she gets really frustrated when a shape won’t fit in the hole she is trying to put it in. She really loves music and loves to dance - when we are listening to music and one song stops - she always yells a little until the next song comes on.

She has quite a few words that she says now - but a lot of them sound the same. Along with the staple of mama, daddy, doggie, na-na (nurse) tee-tn (thank you) and bye bye - she says ball, book (sounds like bup), diaper, uh-oh (sounds like uh-un), that (sounds like dat - used when she points at something) nose (nay), mouth (mouf) and a few more that I can’t think of right now. Her default word is “did’n” - which she uses for everything else, which is so funny since it was also my sister Emily’s nickname for me when she was just starting to talk.

Her little personality shines through in everything she does. She loves to be funny - and knows when she is funny. When she makes us laugh, she revels in it and exaggerates whatever she is doing and laughs extra loud. When she was just starting to walk, I would say “uh-oh” whenever she fell down, now she “pretend” falls down and says “uh-un” and looks up at me with a smile on her face, she will do it over and over again and thinks she is so clever. She also loves to give kisses now - especially to her daddy and to her big Rosie dolly that Bubby got her for her birthday.

She puckers up and kisses her doll on the mouth and even makes a “mwah” sound. She really loves books and loves to be read to - and loves to just sit and quietly look through her books when we are not reading them. She loves to play with other kids now, especially cousin Ari

and weekly playdates with her friend M.
Her sleeping is getting a little better, especially naps - as we are transitioning to one nap, so now she sleeps better and longer during the day. She is still waking up occasionally in the middle of the night and will fuss for a few minutes before going back to sleep - and she usually wakes up at 5-6am and then I go get her, bring her into bed with me and nurse her back to sleep until about 8am. I am hoping the night waking is mainly because of the teething pain and as soon as those teeth are in, she will sleep better at night too.

I love you so much my sweet Rosemary girl. I am impressed every day with how amazing you are and how much I love you!

i was looking through the past few months to catch up and it just cracks me up how much she poses like you in photos, chels. mouth wide open a la scary spice, just like her mom. she is a cutiepie.
