11 Months
I can’t believe my little girl is almost a year old! Rosie is getting so big, she stands on her own now for a few seconds every time I set her down.

She has great balance standing on her own - until she realizes that she is standing by herself and then she seems to get nervous and quickly bends her knees and crawls away…
She loves to walk around the house, holding on and pushing things like her toy schoolbus, or a box, or a chair. She also loves to climb - especially the stairs - if we forget to close the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs - she makes a bee-line over there and is halfway up the stairs before we can catch her. She has gotten clever too, and now when the gate is closed, she tries to climb the side of the stairs.

She is getting so fun and loves to play - her favorite is peek-a-boo, she will use my skirt or shirt or the blankets or sheets on the bed and crack up as she raises and lowers the fabric over her head. She also loves to play chase and hide with her daddy… Joe will crawl around a corner and hide and Rosie will crawl after him and when she finds him he will roar and crawl after her and she will crawl away squealing and laughing - and then they will repeat until they both get tired- it is so cute….She is definitely a daddy’s girl…

She also likes to try to feed us now, or put anything she is playing with or chewing on in our mouths - Joe and Rosie were playing with the bottle of teething tablets like this the other day…

Kind of funny that the bottle of teething tablets is acting as a teething toy - rather than what is inside…
Yesterday was Father’s day - and unfortunately Joe had a show and had to work - but we went and hung out with him anyway - Rosie with her headphones on - and lots of kids at the show were so amused by her - there were tons of people who commented on how cute she was and several people took her picture as well. We celebrated Father’s day a weekend early with a trip to Toronto, where Joe saw his favorite band Television and a few other bands in concert and I gave him an early Father’s day present - the Ergo carrier (kind of a present for me as well:-)

It is a super comfy carrier that will be excellent when we go to Europe in 2 weeks. I also love carrying Rosie in my Maya wrap

That photo is from the same weekend as Toronto, but on Sunday when we got home, it was Ari’s first birthday party. Rosie had a great time hanging out with her cousins - here is a photo of her and Marisa, and her playing soccer (kind of) with the birthday boy, Ari.

Other things of note for her 11th month:
She still makes her trilling sound with her tongue - and she loves to blow raspberries on mommy’s belly and she clicks her tongue too and makes a fake cough sound that she thinks is hilarious - she really tries to imitate anything we say or do.
She loves books and loves to read - she sometimes likes to pretend that she is reading

She is eating a wider variety of foods - we have just been feeding her little bits off our plates - though is still about 90% breastfed - some new foods that she seems to like:
Black beans, brown rice, mango, strawberries, graham cracker, broccoli, squash, carrots, egg, turkey, chicken, cheese, mashed potato, and she loves baba ganoush and she still loves her yobaby yogurt and her gerber fruit and veggie puffs (staples of her diet). The only thing that she doesn’t really seem to like so far is applesauce. She doesn’t do the sign for “more” that I have been showing her - but when we are eating yogurt and she wants more, she hands me back the spoon and makes “unn unh” grunting sounds. She also sounds like she is trying to say “yummy” whenever I feed her something - probably because that is what I always say when I offer her food.
She sleeps pretty good in her crib at night now- asleep by about 8:30-9pm (unless we are out late for some reason) and up at 6:30 when she gets to come in bed with us and nurse and go back to sleep until about 8am - but she still doesn’t like to nap in her crib

though she naps no problem when driving in the car or when lying down with mommy or daddy.
She seems like she is starting to understand more words, she knows what her ball is if I say “get your ball” she grabs it - and she loves playing “where’s mommy’s nose” - she points to my nose and says “nay” and cracks up! Though she also points to my mouth and says “nay” so I am not sure how much she really understands…
I still cry sometimes when I look at her - I can’t believe she came out of me - I love her so much!
